Mallikarjuna is a significant Hindu pilgrimage site located in Srisailam, Andhra Pradesh, and is one of the 12 Jyotirlingas dedicated to Lord Shiva.
It is also one of the 18 Maha Shakti Peethas, which adds to its dual importance as a place of worship for both Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. The temple is nestled in the scenic Nallamala Hills, on the banks of the Krishna River, making it a spiritual and natural retreat for devotees.
The Mallikarjuna Jyotirlinga represents Lord Shiva as Mallikarjuna, while Goddess Parvati is worshipped here as Bhramaramba, making this one of the few temples where both deities are worshipped together.
The temple architecture is a blend of Dravidian and Vijayanagara styles, with impressive towers (gopurams), intricate carvings, and a rich cultural history dating back centuries.
