Bhalukpong is situated on the Assam-Arunachal border, Bhalukpong is a small town located
along the southern reaches of the Himalayas in West Kameng district of Arunachal Pradesh.
The half of the town in Assam and half is in Arunachal Pradesh. Bhalukpong is one of the most
must see picturesque spot for angling, leisurely picnics and nature lovers.

TERRAIN: Plains
After breakfast, you will transfer to another Heaven on Earth location, which is Dirang. On the
way you will be visiting the Tipi Orchid Sanctuary and Research Centre.

TERRAIN: Mountain + Valley
Dirang: Dirang, 40 kms from Bomdila, is situated at an altitude of 1497 meters. It is an ideal
hill resort in the West Kameng district with a beautiful Apple Nursery, Kiwi Farm, and Yak Research
Centre, Buddhist Gompa, Hot Water Spring, and ancient Dirang Jong (Fort). It is the base camp
for trekking to Go Richen Peak and other bird-watching trails.
After breakfast, transfer to Tawang. While going to Tawang, you will be visiting: JaswantGarh,
Sella Pass and Nurarang Falls

After Breakfast, Full day exploration of Tawang which includes the major ones are:
Tawang Monastery (GadenNamgyalLhatse): Tawang Monastery about 400 years old,
situated at an altitude of approximately 10,000 ft. is the second largest Buddhist monastery in
India. It also holds the distinction of being the birthplace of the 6th Dalai Lama. The
monastery is the house of more than 700 monks.
Urqelling Monastery: It is the birthplace of the 6th Dalai Lama who is the only Indian to have
risen to such a high position in Gelupka Sect of Buddhism so far. Inside the monastery there
are several Stupas and people from all walks of life visit this place during Buddhist New Year
to get the blessing for the coming year.
The Craft Center: The craft center in Tawang sells beautiful masks, hand woven carpets,
jewellery in silver, coral and amber, ‘chubas’ the local dress and delightful affordable
mementos.
Tawang War Memorial: After lunch around 3: 30 pm we will leave for Tawang War
Memorial. The memorial is dedicated to the martyrs of the 1962 Sino-Indian war. The
memorial is 40-foot-high and like a stupa in design. It is locally called ‘NamgyalChortan’.
The names of 2420 martyrs imprinted in gold on 32 black granite plagues.

driven to the McMohan Line (Line of Control – Indo China). Later come back to Tawang.

Sangestser Lake: This Lake was formed during the earthquake of 1950. The lake nestles
between huge mountains and is clear and beautiful, with what looked like a hundred bamboo
poles standing straight up in the water all over the lake. The Lake is one of the remotest high-
altitude lakes in the country, and is deeply revered by Buddhists.
PangatengTso Lake (P.T. Tso Lake): There are a number of beautiful lakes around Tawang.
Among them, Pangateng Tso, a natural lake that forms when the snow melts in summer,
located 17 km away from Tawang, is the most beautiful.
Bumla Pass: The Bum La Pass is located about 37 km away from Tawang in Arunachal
Pradesh, at the Indo-China border, above 16,500 ft above sea level. The road to Bum La is also
a historical route; the People's Liberation Army of China invaded India during the 1962 Sino-Indian War.
Indian War. Here in Bum La Pass, one of the fiercest battles took place in the 1962 Sino-Indian War
War. In 2006, the Bumla pass was reopened to traders for the first time in 44 years. Traders
from both sides of the pass were permitted to enter each other’s territories, in addition to
postal workers from each country. It is often covered with heavy snow throughout the year. It
is one of the most off-beat passes in the world and is also referred to as the pass from whereThe
Dalai Lama entered India, escaping from Tibet. This is a really beautiful place.
After Breakfast transfer from Tawang to Bomdila. En-route visit Nurarang / Jung Falls.

Bomdila is on the way to Tawang, situated at height of 8500 ft (distance from Tezpur 180
kms), Bomdila is a picturesque town in the foothills of Himalayas and the headquarter of West
Kameng District the land of the Monpa, Sherdukpen, Aka (Hrusso), Miji and Bogun (Khawas)
tribes. One can see the brilliant landscape and snow-clad Go richen ranges of the Himalaya on
a clear day. The places of interest in Bomdila to visit:
Bomdila Monastery: The monastery has been built under the guidance of Dalai Lama. It is a
residence of more than 200 Buddhist monks. From the monastery one can have the
breathtaking view of the entire Bomdila. The time of pray is in dawn and dusk, attending
which, one can have the absolute peace of mind.
Also visit Craft Center, where very fine wooden carpets of colorful designs and Masks are
produced.
Bomdila also offers a Bird's eye view of Kangto and Go richen peaks (highest peaks in the
state) amidst the Himalayan landscape and snow clad ranges.
Post breakfast checkout from the hotel and drive to Guwahati. On arrival, check in and relax.
Overnight at Guwahati.
After Breakfast, if time is available, visit Maa Kamakhaya temple and then transfer to Guwahati
Airport / Railway station for your departure.
