The Buddhist Monastic Trail from Guwahati to Arunachal Pradesh is an iconic 7-Night / 8-Day spiritual circuit. It traces the footprints of Tibetan Buddhism through ancient monasteries, high-altitude mountain passes, and serene valleys.

The trail winds through the West Kameng and Tawang districts of Arunachal Pradesh:
Guwahati ➔ Bhalukpong ➔ Dirang ➔ Sela Pass ➔ Tawang ➔ Bomdila ➔ Guwahati

Day 01 :

Arrival in Guwahati – Drive to Bhalukpong

Drive toward the Arunachal border. Overnight in Bhalukpong.

Day 02 :

Bhalukpong to Dirang

Visit the Thupsung Dhargye Ling Monastery in Dirang, a center for Tibetan Buddhist learning.

Day 03 :

Dirang to Tawang

Cross the Sela Pass (13,700 ft).

Visit the Jaswant Garh War Memorial en route.

Day 04 :

Tawang Monastery & Local Sites

Full day at Tawang Monastery (Galden Namgyel Lhatse), the largest monastery in India.

Visit the Urgelling Monastery (birthplace of the 6th Dalai Lama) and the Ani Gompa (Nunnery).

Day 05 :

Tawang Spiritual Exploration

Visit the Giant Buddha Statue and attend the evening Light and Sound show at the War Memorial.

Day 06 :

Tawang to Bomdila

Drive back to Bomdila. Visit the Bomdila Monastery (Upper Gompa) which offers panoramic views of the Kameng Valley.

Day 07 :

Bomdila to Guwahati

Long drive back to the plains of Assam.

Day 08 :

Departure

Transfer to the airport.
