Bhalukpong is situated on the Assam-Arunachal border, Bhalukpong is a small town located along the southern reaches of the Himalayas in West Kameng district of Arunachal Pradesh. The half of the town in Assam and half is in Arunachal Pradesh. Bhalukpong is one of the most must see picturesque spot for angling, leisurely picnics and nature lovers.

TERRAIN: Plains
After Breakfast you will transfer to another Heaven on Earth location which is Dirang. On the way you will be visiting to Tipi Orchid Sanctuary and Research Centre.

TERRAIN: Mountain + ValleyDirang: Dirang 40 kms from Bomdila is situated at an altitude of 1497 meters. It is an ideal hill resort in West Kameng district with beautiful Apple Nursery, Kiwi Farm, Yak Research Centre, Buddhist Gompa, Hot Water Spring and ancient Dirang Jong (Fort). It is the base camp for trekking to Go richen peak and other bird watching trails.
After breakfast transfer to Tawang. While going to Tawang you will be visiting: Jaswant Garh, Sella Pass and Nurarang Falls

After Breakfast, Full day exploration of Tawang which includes the major ones are:
Tawang Monastery (Gaden Namgyal Lhatse): Tawang Monastery about 400 years old, situated at an altitude of approximately 10,000 ft. is the second largest Buddhist monastery in India. It also holds the distinction of being the birthplace of the 6th Dalai Lama. The monastery is the house of more than 700 monks.
Urqelling Monastery: It is the birthplace of the 6th Dalai Lama who is the only Indian to have risen to such a high position in Gelupka Sect of Buddhism so far. Inside the monastery there are several Stupas and people from all walks of life visit this place during Buddhist New Year to get the blessing for the coming year.
The Craft Center: The craft center in Tawang sells beautiful masks, hand woven carpets, jewellery in silver, coral and amber, ‘chubas’ the local dress and delightful affordable mementos.
Tawang War Memorial: After lunch around 3: 30 pm we will leave for Tawang War Memorial. The memorial is dedicated to the martyrs of the 1962 Sino-Indian war. The memorial is 40-foot-high and like a stupa in design. It is locally called ‘Namgyal Chortan’. The names of 2420 martyrs imprinted in gold on 32 black granite plagues.

After Breakfast you will be having second full day sightseeing of Tawang. Today you will be driven to the McMohan Line (Line of Control – Indo China). Later come back to Tawang.

Sangestser Lake: This Lake was formed during the earthquake of 1950. The lake nestles between huge mountains and is clear and beautiful with what looked like a hundred bamboo poles standing straight up in the water all over the lake. The Lake is one of the remotest high-altitude lakes in the country and is deeply revered by Buddhists.
Pangateng Tso Lake (P.T. Tso Lake): There are number of beautiful lakes around Tawang. Among them Pangateng Tso, a natural lake that forms when the snow melts in summer, located 17 km away from Tawang is the most beautiful.
Bumla Pass: The Bum La Pass is located about 37 km away from Tawang in Arunachal Pradesh, at the Indo-China border above 16,500 ft above sea level. The road to Bum La is also a historical route, the People's Liberation Army of China invaded India during the 1962 Sino-Indian War. Here in Bum La Pass one of the fiercest battles took place in the 1962 Sino-Indian War. In 2006, Bumla pass was re-opened to traders for the first time in 44 years. Traders from both sides of the pass were permitted to enter each other’s territories, in addition to postal workers from each country. It is often covered with heavy snow throughout the year. It is one of the most off-beat passes in the world and is also referred to as the pass from where Dalai Lama entered India escaping from Tibet. This is a really beautiful place.
After Breakfast transfer from Tawang to Bomdila. En-route visit Nurarang / Jung Falls.

Bomdila is on the way to Tawang, situated at height of 8500 ft (distance from Tezpur 180 kms), Bomdila is a picturesque town in the foothills of Himalayas and the headquarter of West Kameng District the land of the Monpa, Sherdukpen, Aka (Hrusso), Miji and Bogun (Khawas) tribes. One can see the brilliant landscape and snow-clad Go richen ranges of the Himalaya on a clear day. The places of interest in Bomdila to visit:
Bomdila Monastery: The monastery has been built under the guidance of Dalai Lama. It is a residence of more than 200 Buddhist monks. From the monastery one can have the breathtaking view of the entire Bomdila. The time of pray is in dawn and dusk, attending which, one can have the absolute peace of mind.
Also visit Craft Center, where very fine wooden carpets of colorful designs and Masks are produced.
Bomdila also offers a Bird's eye view of Kangto and Go richen peaks (highest peaks in the state) amidst the Himalayan landscape and snow clad ranges.
After breakfast, Check out of the hotel and visit the Craft Centre which Opens at 9:00 am and produces very fine, colorful exquisite 'dragon' designs carpets, Buddhist Thangkas (wall hangings) and masks. And the Lower Gompa which is opposite to each other. Later set off to Kaziranga.
Evening if you reach early you can visit visit “Kaziranga orchid and Biodiversity Park” and Tea Garden. Even visit Hathikhuli Tea outlet – for direct tea retail outlet by Hathikhuli Tea Garden for organic CTC and organic Green Tea.

Later road to Shillong. The ‘Scotland of the East’ lies in the centre of a plateau surrounded by Khasi hills. En-route visit Umium Lake/Park. Evening you can visit famous Police Bazaar (PB) of your own.
Umain Lake popularly known as Barapani, this is the biggest artificial lake in the State. Surrounded by sylvan hills and wrapped in the beauty of an assortment of green Khasi-pines and the azure blue skies. Developed upon the reservoir of the Umiam Hydro Electric Project, the Water Sports Complex provides a choice of row-boats, paddle-boats, cruise boats, sailing boats, water scooters and speed boats. This is a very popular place for picnic, fishing and watersports. M.T.D.C. had started operating water-sports in the area

TERRAIN: Plains + Hills
After Breakfast, excursion to Cherrapunjee.Thesightseeing points: Elephant Falls, Mawkdok Dympep Valley View, Wah Kaba Falls, Thankhrang Park, Nohsngithiang Falls, Nohkalikai Waterfalls, Mawsmai Cave and Arwah Cave. Later return back to Shillong Hotel.
Cherrapunjee is framed as the wettest place on Earth is 60 kms from Shillong. The journey from Shillong to Cherrapunjee offers a pleasant drive as one witness numerous waterfalls & gorges. Longer stay gives opportunity to the visitor to explore limestone caves & waterfalls, the amazing living root bridges and galore of water & adventure activities. While the must visit places are the gorgeous Seven Sisters falls and the Mawsmai cave is in your tour plan.

TERRAIN: Hills
After breakfast, excursion to Dawki(Tamabil – Indo Bangladesh Border and Umngot River), En-route visit Mawlynnong. Later return back to Shillong.
Sightseeing points includes: Umngot River, Indo-Bangladesh Friendship Border, Balancing Rock, Riwai Root Bridge&Mawlynnong Village.

Mawlynnong village, situated 90 kms ahead of Shillong, on the Shillong-Dawki Road, 30 kms from Pynursla, is a village of 75 households with a population of 400. Dubbed the cleanest village in India by Discover India Magazine, the primary Village School till class V boasts of its no dropout record and the village of 90 % literacy. Paved walkways and beautiful flowerbed all along mark the village, with waterfalls, a living root bridge, hilly rivulets, acacia plantation and an excellent view of the faraway plains of Bangladesh all contribute to the ambience of this village. Farming of betel nut & leaves, broomsticks and pepper along with bee rearing are the primary economic activity of thevillage.

After breakfast, road to Guwahati. After arriving, check in hotel and you can go for sightseeing according to time. Among the city sightseeing there is the State Emporium, Srimanta Sankardeva Kalakshetra (A museum of Assam diverse culture).Among the Temples are - Maa Kamakhya temple, or you can also visit Umananda Island (The smallest inhabited island of India) – There is a Shiva temple in the island and the only way to go there is through a ferry. Evening you can have walk around the market and can find shops with fine “Muga Silk” dresses.

The ideal window is November to April. Kaziranga is closed from May to October, and Tawang can face road closures due to heavy snow in mid-winter or landslides during the monsoon (July-September).
Bum La requires a separate permit issued in Tawang. It can be closed due to heavy snow in winter. You must hire a local Tawang-registered SUV for this excursion
The roads from Guwahati to Kaziranga and Shillong are excellent. However, the road to Tawang is mountainous and can be rough or narrow in stretches. A sturdy SUV like an Innova or Scorpio is highly recommended
